Cleft Recording in the Background

I often take notes in a very shorthand way certain words trigger me to recall the meeting that I just attended or what I wanna recall later on. It would be incredibly helpful if I could look at that list while I was speaking into and recording with Cleft. Right now that can only be done on desktop or the second screen, but I wanna be able to do that on the go from my phone so if I'm taking a note in Draft app or NotePlan and I want to refer to those unusable notes and talk them into cleft in a usable manner would be a wonderful addition.

Hi there Jason - do you mean you would like cue-cards to come to iOS? So you may refer to notes while recording with Cleft?

Hi Jonny Cosgrove! No - What I would like to do is:
- Start recording with Cleft
- While recording and dictating, change my open app to Apple Notes or Drafts App, etc... so that I can see the notes on those apps while speaking into an open Cleft audio recording session.
Like screen recording on the dynamic island does.
Use cases:
- In a meeting - instead of typing word for word I type (or more likely mistype) a few keywords from the conversation. Not enough for Cleft to turn into anything meaningful. While the meeting is fresh on my mind, I want to dictate to Cleft the meeting notes... but I want to refer to the typed keywords so I don't forget anything and can dictate them in the proper order, etc....
- Leaving a doctors appointment - my notes are scattered... misspelled meds / diagnosis, etc... I can't recall all the aspect of the discussed health plan and want to make sure I remember everything. So I need to look at my notes to while dictating into Cleft to ensure everything is captured and nothing is lost.
Why this is important: I find one big shortcoming of Cleft (and there aren't many) is that if I stop the recording, go back to look at my note, go back to Cleft and add audio to the original note, Cleft only adds the second audio to the bottom of the note... but it might have been the second most important thing... so if I dictate in the correct order, because i can see it all - my Cleft output will be significantly better.
Hope this helps?!

Jason thanks for clarifying! We don't have a dynamic island yet, but Cleft already supports background recording, so feel free to try it out!
- Open Cleft/Press a widget to start recording
- Navigate to the app you want to get information from
Let me know how that works for you/what isn't working for you
