A good compromise would be to save the original audio, and then auto-discard after 24-48 hours. You can save/export any audio. Maybe have a shortcut action that saves/exports audio.

important — it’s also an important safeguard to increase trust in the product, since as long as the recording saves (and saves out), I have a record of it (for situations where cleft transcription issues or post-recording bugs occur). This would increase my trust hugely.
